Chapter 1 Rebirth A hollow, rhythmic sound invaded his ears. A quiet and repetitive beat was echoing in his head, while his consciousness woke up timidly. For an istant, the boy tightened his eyes shut, as if to drive out not only that sound, but everything that was about to come. He would have liked to go on sleeping undisturbed, he felt incredibly tired. In that exact moment, he realized he could feel his body once again. His skin was tingling and the noise of his heart, which had just found his pace, had woken him up. He moved his fingers, trying to figure out where he was by probing the ground around him. He didn't want to open his eyes,
